Rebuilding the enclosures and fences

Funded by Humane Society International Australia

All our fencing and enclosures were destroyed in the fires, making it impossible to contain and protect the survivors of the fires. Humane Society International Australia provided funding to quickly build new and wildlife friendly fencing. Blaze Aid volunteers helped with the construction. Many kilometres of feral proof, escape proof, wildlife friendly fencing was built. It was a massive undertaking and took many months to complete as everything was built by hand. We cant use the heavy and noisy machinery, like bull dozers and pole drivers, that is commonly used in fence construction- the noise and size of the machines would place too much stress on already stressed survivors. It was difficult enough managing them when a little bobcat was here!

Thanks everyone for your patience. The wildlife here are now safe from predators and joeys can enjoy growing up in safety.
